Our Team and Mission

The Department of Safety and Security, located in Holden Center, Room 110, provides a wide range of services designed to support the safety and well-being of the Lake Erie College community.

The men and women of the Safety and Security Department come from diverse backgrounds, including military and law enforcement service. Officers work closely with the City of Painesville Police Department and other Lake County agencies to ensure a safe campus environment.

The department conducts 24-hour, seven-days-a-week foot and vehicle patrols and is charged by the College administration with:

  • Enforcing College policies and regulations

  • Cooperating with state and municipal authorities

  • Monitoring campus facilities for fire, safety, and health hazards

When special events are held on campus or circumstances require additional coverage, security support is enhanced through the use of off-duty City of Painesville Police officers.
